Welcome to The Training Lab.
One-on-one coaching built on assessment, individual programming, and numbers you can see move. No guesswork, no cookie-cutter plans.
The Method
Run like a lab.
Every client moves through the same four-stage protocol. The order matters: you can't program what you haven't measured, and you can't claim progress you haven't retested.
Baseline
Movement screen, lift baselines, mobility checks, and a real conversation about your goals, schedule, and history.
Program
A training block written for your body and your calendar, not a template with your name pasted on top.
Coach
Coached sessions with technique standards, honest effort targets, and every set logged as a data point.
Prove it
At the end of each block we re-run the baseline. The numbers either moved or the program changes. Simple.
Inside the Programming
The variables we control.
Buzzwords are cheap. These are the actual levers behind every block your coach writes, and every one of them shows up in your training log.
Progressive Overload
Load, reps, or sets nudge up over time so your body always has a reason to adapt. No progression, no progress.
Periodized Blocks
Training runs in focused blocks, each with one job: build muscle, build strength, or peak what you've built.
Planned Deloads
Scheduled easier weeks let fatigue clear so the next block starts fresh instead of fried. Rest is programmed, not accidental.
RPE-Based Loading
Effort is rated set by set, so the weight on the bar matches the day you're actually having.
Movement Patterns
Squat, hinge, push, pull, carry. Learn the pattern first, then earn the load.
Tempo & Technique
Every rep has a standard. Controlled reps build muscle. Sloppy reps mostly build risk.
Conditioning
Engine work, runs included, built to support the lifting instead of stealing from it.
Recovery
Sleep and stress get tracked like sets, because that's where the adaptation actually happens.
Programs
Choose your protocol.
Strength & Conditioning
Purposeful, challenging work that builds strength and conditioning you can actually use, in everyday life and in sport.
Inquire TL-02Weight Loss
Fat loss built on training you can sustain, not a crash plan. Strength work protects the muscle while the weight comes off, so what you lose stays lost.
Inquire TL-03Functional Capacity
Build a body that works outside the gym. Strength, mobility, balance, and coordination trained together, so carrying, climbing, lifting, all get easier.
Inquire TL-04Endurance Training
Structured running and conditioning programs that grow your engine, so you can perform better and go further.
Inquire TL-05Performance & Challenge
For limit-pushers: Spartan race prep, athletic performance, or a new challenge worth training for. Build the strength, endurance, and confidence to take it on.
Inquire TL-06Online Personal Training
The same assessment, programming, and coaching, run remotely. Your block, your check-ins, and technique reviewed from video, wherever you train.
InquireBuilt on the five patterns: squat, hinge, push, pull, carry. You learn the pattern first, then earn the load. Conditioning is programmed to support the lifting instead of competing with it.
What a block looks like
- Movement screen and lift baselines before a single session is written
- Load, reps or sets progress every week, logged set by set
- Effort rated with RPE, so the weight matches the day you are actually having
- Conditioning dosed to build your engine without wrecking your recovery
- The baseline retested at the end of the block, so progress is proven not claimed
Good fit if you want strength that shows up outside the gym, not just on the gym floor.
Fat loss built on training you can sustain rather than a crash plan you cannot. Strength work stays in the programme the whole way through, so the weight you lose is the weight you meant to lose and not the muscle underneath it.
What a block looks like
- Baselines you can actually repeat, so progress is measured and not guessed
- Strength work kept in every phase to protect the muscle you already have
- Conditioning added in a dose that fits the week you really have
- Progress judged on more than the scale: lifts, measurements, and how you feel
- Retest at the end of the block, then adjust and go again
Good fit if you have lost weight before and put it back on, and want the version that holds.
Jeryme coaches the training and the habits around it. Detailed nutrition planning sits outside a Personal Training Specialist's scope of practice, so he will point you to a qualified professional if you want that side handled properly.
Build a body that works outside the gym. Strength, mobility, balance, and coordination trained together rather than in separate boxes, so carrying, climbing, and lifting all get easier.
What a block looks like
- Loaded carries, step-ups and single-leg work, the things real life actually asks for
- Positions trained through full range, not just the comfortable middle
- Balance and coordination worked under fatigue, which is when they matter
- Strength built in the ranges you use, not only the ones that are easy to load
- Tested against tasks that look like your day, not just numbers on a bar
Good fit if you want to move well and confidently for the long haul.
Structured running and conditioning that grows your engine. Easy work kept genuinely easy, hard work kept genuinely hard, and strength work in the background to keep you durable.
What a block looks like
- A build that works backwards from your date rather than forwards from today
- Easy running kept easy, which is the part most people get wrong
- A small amount of hard work that actually counts
- Strength work so you spend your time running instead of rehabbing
- Progress checked against benchmarks you can repeat honestly
Good fit if you want to go further, or the same distance faster, without breaking down.
For limit-pushers. Spartan race prep, athletic performance, or a new challenge worth training for. Build the strength, endurance, and confidence to take it on.
What a block looks like
- The whole plan works backwards from the event date
- Event-specific demands trained on purpose: grip, carries, hills, whatever it asks of you
- Strength and engine built in parallel rather than one after the other
- Practice at the thing itself, not just the fitness sitting behind it
- A taper, so you arrive fresh instead of cooked
Good fit if you have signed up for something that scares you slightly.
The same assessment and the same individual programming, delivered remotely. Built for people outside Calgary, or who train in their own gym on their own schedule.
What a block looks like
- The same assessment process before anything gets written
- Your block written out and shared with you
- You send video of the key lifts, you get technique notes back
- Regular check-ins so the plan adjusts to your week
- The next block written from what your log actually shows
Good fit if you are self-motivated in the gym but want the programming and the accountability.
The Coach
Jeryme Arnold.
- canfitpro® Certified · Personal Training Specialist (PTS)
- Junior hockey · Track and field · Spartan races · Skydiving
Jeryme is a canfitpro-certified personal trainer with a lifelong passion for fitness and pushing limits. Junior hockey, track and field, Spartan races, skydiving: every one of them taught him the same lesson, that discipline, resilience, and consistency are what actually move the needle.
His goal is to make you stronger, fitter, and more confident through training that is challenging, purposeful, and built around your goals. Whatever the goal, the process never changes: measure, program, coach, retest.
You're stronger than you think. Let's prove it.
Exhibit A
He ran the protocol on himself first.
The before photo is Jeryme at 260 lb. The after is Jeryme at 195 lb. Same person, same four stages every client goes through: assess, prescribe, train, retest.
There was no shortcut in it. He wrote the program, ran it on himself, kept what moved the numbers, and cut what didn't. The fundamentals behind those 65 lb are the same ones behind every block he writes for a client, which is why he can tell you exactly what the work feels like.
